Faith Church Physical Gathering Plan

Updated Nov. 20th, 2020

The mission of Faith Church is to see this community, and those around us, transformed by the power of the Gospel. Central to this vision is the Biblical command for physical gatherings that prioritizes gospel centered preaching/teaching, loving service to others, and spiritual connection. Our continued ability to meet will be determined, in part, by our governing authorities. Now that we are gathered again the following guidelines will be adhered to in our meetings.

*Please note that these plans are subject to further development, and additional guidelines provided by our governing authorities.

Phase 1 Plans

Members who are vulnerable are safer at home. We will continue to provide our online service platforms for those who may not be able to attend in person, or who are uncomfortable attending in person. No one should feel obligated to return to in-person worship before they are ready to do so.

We are doing are best to follow recommended guidelines as issued by the state of Vermont and will adjust as new recommendations are provided.  We entered Phase 1 in June 2020.

Phase 2 Plans

Members who are vulnerable are safer at home. We will continue to provide our online service platforms for those who may not be able to attend in person, or who are uncomfortable attending in person. No one should feel obligated to return to in-person worship experience before they are ready to do so.

Faith Kids, ages 0-12, is open and available to families during the Sunday morning experience.  Leaders, teachers, and assistants are, and will continue to be, trained on COVID safe procedures that limit interaction and promote and healthy and safe environment as recommended by the state of Vermont.  While we work hard to maintain that standard, we understand not every family is comfortable separating yet.  Children are absolutely welcome to stay with their parents/guardians in the main worship experience.

Small groups (10 people or less) are allowed to meet in the facility during the week.  Each group will follow recommended Vermont guidelines for physical gathering.

We will continue to do our best to follow recommended guidelines as issued by the state of Vermont and will adjust as new recommendations are provided.  We entered Phase 2 on November 8th, 2020.

Worship Experience

Service Time and Location: Sunday 10am. The experience will be upstairs in the auditorium and Junction Café areas.  Faith kids will gather downstairs.

Participation Limits: Each experience will be limited to approximately 50 participants. This limit is to allow for physical distancing guidelines to be met, and appropriate measures accomplished as people are entering and exiting the building.

Preparations and Other Elements

Sanitizing: Before and after use we will sanitize the entire facility. There will be marked hand sanitizer stations positioned throughout the building. During the experience we will do our best to keep up with sanitization of the facility.

Facial Covering: All volunteers will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask, unless on stage. We recommend our church family to wear masks or cloth facial coverings any time it is not possible to maintain a physical distance of at least six feet with others from outside their household.. Please bring your own covering. If you do not have one, masks will be available on site.

Seating: All seating in the experience have been positioned to adhere to Vermont physical distancing guidelines. Households are encouraged to sit together and leave 6 feet of space between each household.

Offering: Online giving is strongly encouraged. There will be baskets available at the front and back of the room for physical giving as well.

Lord’s Supper: When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper we will use sanitized, pre-packaged elements.

Entrances and Exits: All attendees will enter the building through the auditorium front doors or side ramp door as needed. Participants will be encouraged to leave space between households when the experience has concluded and may exit through the front or side door.  All doors will be propped open to avoid using handles and to promote air circulation as long as the weather allows.

Kids and Students: Faith Kids is open to all ages with each household distanced at least six feet and facial coverings encouraged.  Families are encouraged to check-in for safety and security purposes with our contactless check-in system and follow signs to the classrooms indicating flow of traffic to reduce cross traffic contact.

We also have an unmanned nursery available for younger children and their parents/guardians.  To help parents stay engaged a TV broadcasting the morning experience will be available.

When to Stay at Home: If you have a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, known exposure to COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the Sunday experience, or are part of the vulnerable population (VP)*, please stay home.

Food Services: Full service coffee has resumed.  Each individual wishing to have a cup of our ridiculously good coffee will be asked to place an order with the server and wait at least six feet from others while it is prepared.  We also ask for patience and grace as this will be slower than our traditional self-serve model.  Condiments will be provided upon request.

Facility Access: The entire building is open for church use, including small groups and kids ministry.  Outside groups that would like to use the building will need to contact the church and obtain permission before use.

If You Test Positive for COVID-19: If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days after attending a weekend experience, please notify the church by phone, email, or social media.
